I have recently (last year or so) been exposed to the wonders of good bourbon.
What you see above is my small but, if I do say so myself, nice bourbon collection. From left to right is Eagle Rare 17, George T Stagg, Colonel E.H. Taylor Small Batch, Thomas Handy Sazerac, William Larue Weller, and Old Forester Birthday Boubon 2013. I also have a bottle of Willet in my decanter right now. I opened the Stagg for the first time last night and it was just amazing. So who else on here likes a good glass of straight Kentucky bourbon?

I do. I do very much. Unfortunately, that bourbon collection is about six times bigger than mine at the moment. But if it's drinkability I'm looking for, bourbon served neat is my drink of choice.
Also, I own this, if you ever need me to look something up:

That's some fancy stuff there. I only buy similar top-shelf goods for special occasions like New Year's day. My DD (daily drinker) is the ninety-proof goodness of George Dickel #12, which is Bourbon-esque even though it's from Tennessee, not Kentucky.

I love the stuff, and currently have a handle of 1792 in my liquor cabinet that's half gone (it's about 2 weeks old btw :-/). Others that I like are Woodford reserve, Four Roses small batch 90proof, Bookers, and several others. Basically if it's a small batch or single barrel bourbon, I'll probably like it. I'm also a fan of speyside scotches.

I'm right there with you, and I applaud your decisions in purchasing these. (Notice I didn't say "taste," because they look hardly touched!) If I'm not mistaken, all of those are products of same distillery in Frankfort, right? I've had every one of those at one time except the Stagg, and I believe I've only had a younger bottle of Eagle Rare (was it 7 or 10 year?) But those aren't my everyday bottles. I'll usually have the Buffalo Trace 1.5 liter from Costco on hand; these others less frequently.

Yea I want to make these last until next fall until the new release comes out. The EH Taylor is almost gone. Eagle Rare makes a pretty common, semi cheap 7 year I believe. The Eagle, Stagg, Handy, and Weller are all from the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, the only one I am missing is the Sazerac 17 I believe. I've been to the Kentucky Bourbon Festival twice. In 1999 I got to hang out with the master distiller for Maker's Mark. Good stuff.
I like Blanton's but I've found it a little inconsistent, probably due to its single-barrel bottling. It's like a wine vintage. I've had bottles of Blanton's that were more like Beam Black than a single barrel premium whiskey.
The best Manhattan I ever had was at the Festival in 2000 and made with Woodford Reserve. I think they added vermouth with an eyedropper.
I met Booker Noe in 2000 and he was a pleasant old man. I enjoyed Baker's and
I also like the big, spicy bite of Booker's. At 120+ proof, it's definitely one for slow sipping.
But my favorite Beam brand bourbon has to be Knob Creek. It's a Big flavor with a smooth finish.
As far as cheap, mass market bourbon goes, I'm a fan of Four Roses yellow and Wild Turkey 101.

There's better stuff than Maker's (not that Maker's is bad by any means) at lower price points. For example, and depending on your taste: in my experience Bulleit (if you like the slightly more complex, rye-y profile) is usually cheaper, Elijah Craig (similar to Maker's, a little woodier and less sweet) often is. If you like a barley-, rather than a wheat-dominant taste, a bit more like a blended Scotch, try WL Weller—not my cup of tea but I know a lot of people whose palates I respect who like it. Finally, hard to go wrong with Buffalo Trace.

I've gravitated more towards rye whiskey as of late, with daily drinkers rotating between Bulleit and Knob Creek. My go to bourbon is 10 year Bulleit. I need to tend to my scotch, though. My Quarter Cask Laphroaig is getting lonely in the back of the cabinet. I wish I had the coin to snag higher end stuff, but I've got to drink at a price point for now.
Did you home build your kegerator or buy one premade? I built a two tap keg box out of a refurb fridge. Unfortunately, ever since the Dr told me that my liver was damaged, it only gets used for birthday parties.

I am a huge beer fan, but I am trying to venture into whiskey. I am starting in bourbon, and so far have had Buffalo Trace (which I really enjoyed) and the Trader Joe's brand bourbon (which is meh at best, but good for spike lemonade). Next on my list is Four Roses, and the Bulleit Bourbon. However I try to be conscious of ingredients used, I have been reading bourbon is notorious for use of GMO corn and other ingredients, except Wild Turkey and Four Roses which have a commitment to non-GMO - good for them. Also, not trying to start a fight about GMOs ;)

Wholeheartedly agree: it's my favorite drink. I have one almost every evening, when I'm off from work: long stem big baloon glass, double shot of Campari, two/three ice cubes, a sice of orange and fill the glass halfway with prosecco. Use a straw to kill the orange slice, and stir the mix till you get 1/3 in. of foam. Best aperitif ever, and doesn't smash your liver. Well, not immediately... but I'm not in a hurry.

Well, here in the land of abundant corn and rye, I like the Boulevardier, with nearly equal portions of rye whiskey (or a rye-forward bourbon), Campari, and sweet vermouth. Strictly speaking the recipe is equal portions, but I usually cut back just a bit on the vermouth. Shaken and up, or on the rocks. It's my favorite drink for playing Gran Turismo.

I've had them all 10-23, and I think the 15 is the best, followed by the 12. I like my bourbon to have some bite, so while the 20 and 23 are good to drink for sure, they are a little smooth for my taste.

This is my great grandfather's bourbon recipe and it is heavenly. The bottle my parents have was $500 for a pint. The bar we got it from charges $90 a shot, but it's nearing 100 years old and was aged for 17 years. Maker's Mark is the evolution of the recipe because the last batch was lost in a Stitzel warehouse when prohibition was enacted. In any case, if you have a chance to try it, I promise it's worth the $.
